As brief examples, many different diseases can be prevented or reversed through a variety of nutritional therapies. Among them are Alzheimer's disease (vitamin E), carpal tunnel syndrome (vitamin B6), macular degeneration (lutein) migraine headache (vitamin B2 or magnesium), mood disorders (B-complex vitamins), multiple sclerosis (vitamins D and B12), night blindness (vitamin A), Parkinson's disease (coenzyme Q10), periodontal disease (vitamin C), and stroke (vitamin C). |

In terms of the nutritional therapies for menstrual disorders, it is essentially the same as for many other disorders, which is to avoid processed foods that strip your body of vitamins and minerals and consume more of a plant-based diet, high in superfoods, and supplement with high-density nutritional supplements on a regular basis.
It's also worth noting that menstrual disorders are typically worsened by excitotoxins such as MSG, and they may often be helped by the external use of progesterone creams. |

If insurance covered vitamins, therapeutic touch, disease-fighting nutritional therapies, anti-cancer foods and supplements, therapies to reverse nervous disorders, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Reiki and energy healing, then virtually everyone would switch over and start using natural therapies. Why? Because they work. You don't have to spend the rest of your life in a hospital, wired to a feeding tube, paying $10,000 a day, with pain and suffering until your dying day, trapped in a system of medicine that looks at you as nothing more than a profit generating machine. |

Types of Alternative Treatments
Most of the alternative treatments used in cancer therapy fall into one of the following categories: biologic and pharmacological therapies, immunologic therapies, herbal therapies, metabolic therapies, mind-body therapies, and nutritional therapies. Although there is a certain amount of overlapping between categories—an immunologic therapy, for instance, may have nutritional components—these categories do serve to highlight the central focus of the many treatments and regimens that fall within them. |

Gentle, slow-moving exercises such as Tai Chi can be very beneficial to joint health, especially when combined with the nutritional therapies described here. Joints do need to be regularly moved in order to express a full range of motion, otherwise they will begin to lose that range of motion and this can eventually result in pain during motion—and a subsequent diagnosis of arthritis.
Any gentle exercise that moves your joints in their normal, natural range of motion is a good supporting therapy for eliminating arthritis pain. |

How healers would keep you healthy
What we need are healers, whose job is to keep you healthy, and who can engage in education, nutritional therapies, detoxification programs, physical therapy, stress reduction and other meaningful health therapies. These healers would be able to assess your specific nutritional needs and then prescribe foods to you. They may even prescribe exercise programs, sunshine or more water so that you stay hydrated.
Now, I'm not imagining that all of this would be easy to implement, or that the government should be the one running such programs. |

How dare you think about supporting your immune system with nutritional therapies and life-saving supplements! You will interfere with the chemotherapy!" The patient says, "Oh, I'm sorry for trying to make a choice to support my own health outcome. Please shoot me up with that chemo before I get any more strange ideas about health." The oncologist will happily oblige.
Organized medicine, or what I like to call Dark Ages medicine, doesn't like you to be informed, because if you are, you might make the choice to go somewhere else. As we are seeing today, people are going somewhere else. |

Apparently, the word "cure" is reserved exclusively for pharmaceuticals; it can never be used with herbs or other nutritional therapies. I find that to be an interesting double standard. There are herbs, by the way, that have a better than 0.6 percent reduction rate in recurring breast cancer. Many herbs from the Amazon rainforest are anti-cancer, most notably graviola and cat's claw, both of which have received some notoriety over the last couple years, and deservedly so, in my opinion. |

Finally, if you engage in physical exercise combined with nutritional therapies and phototherapy through sunlight exposure, then you will probably never suffer from clinical depression. Physical exercise alters your body chemistry and your brain chemistry. It makes you feel happier. Exercise is healing for every system in your body; your cardiovascular system, endocrine system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system, nervous system and many others. Exercise is actually good for your brain, too. |

If CTS is severe, B vitamins and related nutritional therapies are unlikely to reverse it. Catching it early indicates there is only pain and tingling with no weakness and the condition involves only nocturnal awakening but no problems with it during the day. Only immediate surgery or, possibly, the new single injection of prednisolone with lidocaine method will relieve the compression in severe cases. While surgery will take pressure off of the nerve, it does not conect for a deficiency in vitamin Bg, pyridoxine, or vitamin B2, riboflavin, or biotin. |
| One of the many nutritional therapies utilized by Dr. Gonzalez is proteolytic enzymes. Scientific and clinical studies corroborate the benefits of enzymes in the maintenance of good health and the management of age-related frailties. For example, researchers in Austria found that enzymes help maintain healthy levels of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta). TGF-beta, plays an important role in the body's ability to repair and heal itself, but excessive levels of TGF-beta, trigger abnormal growths that can give rise to cancer. Drs. |
| While symptoms can be alleviated by dietary changes and drug therapies, there are specific nutritional therapies that have been shown to be effective without inducing side effects.
The first part of this protocol is a succinct description of the various conventional and alternative therapies that have been shown in published studies to be useful. At the conclusion, a specific supplement menu is provided that reveals the actual doses required to obtain the beneficial effects. |
| Present nutritional therapies focus on reducing the absorption of iron with special supplements and foods. Commonly used sources are calcium, tea, and soluble fiber. High-dose fiber is not recommended if you choose to follow the high antioxidant therapy proposed above because along with iron, essential trace minerals and even vitamins may be reduced. These alternatives are recommended if you choose conventional treatment with phlebotomies.
In summary, it is postulated that the basic biochemical defect that leads to the development of hemochromatosis is a tissue deficiency of antioxidants. |

Although some nutritional therapies for cancer include medically supervised fasting, We do not recommend fasting for cancer patients, particularly those with advanced problems. Ulcer disease is not something for which fasting is suggested, either, although fasting may be beneficial for other conditions present in a patient whose ulcer is under control.
Some clinics and fasting practitioners do believe in fasting for ulcers. In the first test case of the Master Cleanser (p. 61), Stanley Burroughs claims to have cured a patient with an intractable ulcer. |

After about 20 years of treating cancer with Laetrile, he wrote a book about his experiences using Laetrile along with other supportive nutritional therapies for cancer. His easy-to-read and inspiring book is called Alive and Well, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Laetrile. There were also other prominent American physicians who successfully treated cancer with Laetrile, such as John A. Richardson, M.D., of California.
Dr. Binzel states in his book that no Laetrile practitioners ever claimed the use of Laetrile alone was enough to cure cancer. |

Nutritionally oriented physicians have suggested that the best way to talk about nutritional therapies with a skeptical doc is to be firm but non-confrontational. Physicians don't have a lot of time to keep up with their specialty, let alone delve into another one, such as nutrition. They may also have financial and therapeutic constraints imposed by a health mainybu tenance organization (HMO), insurer, or even the office.
One approach might be to say something like: ' mins and fatty acids to treat my inflammation appeals are safe and the evidence seems pretty solid. |
| Nutrients That Can Help
Some physicians have become receptive to nutritional therapies because vitamin supplements relieved or eliminated their own allergies. For example, Robert Cathcart III, M.D., was impressed by how vitamin C supplements relieved his hay fever, and he went on to become one of the leading experts in the clinical use of vitamin C to fight infections.
A large variety of nutritional supplements might help, but you will have to experiment to find the best combination for your particular body and allergies. |

Nutritional Therapy for Insomnia
Too often, even the "naturalistic" nutritional therapies for insomnia consist of just using nutrients or herbs to "drug" an insomniac's imbalanced neurochemistry. I recommend a much more enduring approach that consists of restoring metabolic balance to the brain bioche mistry, so that it doesn't need to be drugged with "nutritional downers."
One of the primary metabolic imbalances that leads to chronic biochemical insomnia is a deficit of melatonin. |

Many physicians mistakenly believe that there are insufficient published scientific data on the basis of which to recommend nutritional therapies for their patients.
2. Most physicians lack the confidence and knowledge to counsel their patients on lifestyle and dietary modifications for cancer control.
3. Physicians who use alternative therapies in treating cancer may find their peers attempting to revoke their license to practice medicine.
Thousands of published scientific studies clearly demonstrate the benefit of dietary factors in disease prevention and therapy. |
